Srchtune
Delete your data
Srchtune has no accounts and no sign-in, so there is no account to close. Your songs, playlists, listening history and settings are stored only on your phone — uninstalling the app deletes every one of them. This page covers the little that our services hold, and how to have that removed too.

Data on your phone
There is no account, and uninstalling deletes everything the app stores
Srchtune has no registration, no sign-in and no profile, so there is no account to delete. Your library, playlists, play counts, settings and cached artwork live in the app’s own storage on your device. Removing Srchtune removes all of it, on both Android and iOS.
Your music files themselves are yours and are left alone — Srchtune reads them, it does not own them. Removing a track from the player never deletes the file.
Request deletion
The services below identify a device by a random install ID rather than by you — there is no name, email or account behind it. To have the records tied to your device deleted, write to us and we will do it:
- Email srchtune@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my data”.
- Tell us the phone or tablet you used Srchtune on and roughly when you installed it. That is enough for us to find and remove the records held against that install.
- We reply to confirm, and complete the deletion within 30 days of your request.
You do not need the app installed to ask, and you do not need an account — there isn’t one. If you still have Srchtune on your device, mentioning the accent colour and language you set under Settings helps us match the right install faster.
Parents and guardians
Srchtune is not directed at children under 13. If a child has used the app and you want what we hold removed, write to srchtune@gmail.com with the subject “Child data” and we will treat it the same way, within the same 30 days. The children’s section of the privacy policy sets out the age requirement and what we delete.
What gets deleted
On request, everything held against your install ID is removed:
- Analytics events linked to your install ID (Firebase Analytics)
- Crash reports linked to your install ID (Firebase Crashlytics)
- Usage sessions linked to your install ID (Microsoft Clarity)
- Error reports linked to your install ID on our own servers — the only records we hold that carry any identifier at all
What is kept
Four things survive a deletion request, because none of them point back at you:
- Catalogue entries. Song titles, artist and album names added to the public Srchtune catalogue. These are sent without any identifier — no install ID, no device identifier, nothing — so from the moment they arrive there is no link back to the device that contributed them. They are what the catalogue on this site is made of.
- Reports of songs we could not identify. A title, artist and duration, sent so the catalogue can be improved. These carry no identifier either, so they cannot be traced to you — and for the same reason cannot be singled out for deletion.
- Aggregated statistics. Counts and totals that cannot identify any device, person or install.
- Server security logs. IP addresses recorded for abuse prevention, kept briefly and then deleted.
Advertising data
Google AdMob holds advertising data against your device’s advertising identifier. That identifier belongs to the operating system rather than to us, so you control it directly and resetting it is immediate:
- Android. Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID. The exact wording varies between Android versions and manufacturers.
- iPhone and iPad. Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and turn off Allow Apps to Request to Track. Srchtune cannot track you across other apps unless you have granted that permission.
Automatic deletion
Even without a request, none of this is kept indefinitely:
- Crash reports are deleted after 90 days.
- Analytics events expire automatically after at most 14 months.
- Usage sessions are deleted on Microsoft’s own retention schedule for Clarity.
- Error reports on our own servers are deleted after 12 months, or sooner once the problem they describe is fixed.
- Server security logs are kept only while they are useful for preventing abuse, and are removed with everything else if you ask.
